Time of Incident: 1924hrs

Southwestern Regional Police responded to the PH Glatfelter wood chipper yard for a 52yr old male that was trapped under his tractor trailer. Upon arrival, police and local fire department personnel from Spring Grove and N Codorus found Wayne Johnson of Salisbury MD trapped under the cab of the truck. Johnson was alert and conscious. Johnson advised that he was having problems with the brake line freezing up and he attempted correct the problem.  Johnson stated that he slipped and fell feet first and wedged himself under the driveshaft of the truck. Johnson used his cell phone to call for help. A section of the undercarriage had to be cut away so that he could be extracted by emergency personnel. Johnson was transported to York Hospital by Spring Grove ambulance where he was treated for minor injuries including hypothermia.
