A 14 year old juvenile male was arrested after attempting to rape a female jogger.

On today’s date at 6:00 PM, the defendant rode his motorcycle past a 22 year-old Hanover woman who was jogging in the 1800 blk. of Haar Rd., Spring Grove, North Codorus Twp.  The woman was visiting a friend in the area.  After several passes of the victim, the defendant stopped his motorcycle, exited the motorcycle, and forced the victim to the ground and at that time attempted to sexually assault the victim. 

The victim screamed, physically resisted and freed herself and ran to a nearby residence.  The resident called York County Emergency Services for the victim and summoned Southwestern Regional Police.   After officers met with the victim, several witnesses were located in the area and a suspect was developed. 

The defendant was located at his residence in Spring Grove, North Codorus Twp. and taken into custody after being identified by the victim.  The defendant did kick out the police vehicle window after he was restrained.  The victim did not require medical attention. 

The defendant was taken to York County Juvenile Detention Center.  Charges are as follows:  Criminal attempt to Commit Rape, Criminal Attempt to Commit Involuntary Deviate Sexual Intercourse, Criminal Attempt to Indecent Assault, Criminal Attempt to Agg. Indecent Assault, Simple Assault, False Imprisonment, Unlawful Restraint, Institutional Vandalism (breaking window), and Harassment.
