Date of Incident: November 2007
Time of Incident:
A lengthy theft investigation has concluded in the
arrest of a W/F, Samantha Lee Repp, DOB 12-12-75, of Jackson Twp. York
CO., for the following charges:
-Identity Theft (3 cts./ felony), -Theft By
Deception / (3 cts./felony), -Access Device Fraud (3 cts./felony)
This case was reported to us in November 2007.
The three victims in this case are related.
Two are husband and wife and the other is the brother of the
female (The PD is withholding the names of the victims as they are
mentally handicapped).
The defendant was able to gain the trust of one of
the victims as her co-worker in a business.
She eventually befriended all three victims.
At different times from the summer of 2006 to the summer of 2007,
the defendant manipulated the victims so they would open various credit
accounts for her. She began
to run up the costs in these accounts and did not pay for the items that
she charged to these accounts.
The defendant fraudulently cashed checks of the victims, and
eventually took on the identity of the victims and continued to make
purchases using the victim’s identification.
To indicate the magnitude of the purchases, one of the items
purchased was a mortgage for a home in the Spring Grove area.
The monetary damages in this case are still
mounting but may exceed $300,000.
The defendant’s charges were bound over for county court through
MDJ Leppo’s Office. The
defendant remains in York County Prison since the charges were filed
against her. The police
department is interested in knowing of any other persons who may have
been defrauded by the defendant and they are encouraged to call Sgt.
Lisa Layden at (717) 225-1333 ext. 115.
