Auto Crash/Stolen Vehicle

Officers responded to a single vehicle crash at 1:45 pm on today’s date to the intersection of Tunnel Hill Rd. and Messersmith Rd., North Codorus Twp.  A passing motorist observed the crash after the fact and contacted York County 911.  Three occupants of the vehicle, a red, 1995 Dodge Caravan, were taken to York Hospital for a variety of non-life threatening injuries.  

The vehicle had been traveling eastbound on  Messersmith Rd., crossed into the westbound lane, left the roadway, traveled down a six foot embankment and into a storm drain.  One foot of water was in the drain.  Speed was a factor in the causation of the crash.

The vehicle had been reported stolen earlier in the day to the West Manchester Twp. Police Department / York County.  Both departments are investigating the circumstances of the theft.  The names of the occupants and possible charges are not available at this time.  If charges are filed, it will be by the WMTPD.
