Department of Community and Economic Development Review

Dear Resident,

We are very pleased to be able to offer the 2006 PA State review of our department on our web site.

We are certainly pleased with the results of the review and appreciate the complimentary remarks.  I believe that our department and our personnel have become an effective and efficient policing organization; in a very short period of time.  We began providing services in July of 2002 when we merged 3 of our current 4 municipalities.  We will use the theories and concepts suggested in the study for continued improvement.

This process was very time consuming for all involved but we certainly feel that open reviews such as this, will only serve to instill trust in our operations throughout the communities that we serve.  We especially thank certain persons for their insight and overview concerning the report:

·          Chief William Heim, Reading (PA) Police Department, Peer-to-Peer Consultant

·          Ron Stern, PA Dept. of Community and Economic Development, Governor’s Center for Local Government Services

I would welcome any thoughts or comments that you may have concerning this information or any other issues that involve our agency.  You may electronically transmit your message using our web site.

Thank you for you interest in our department.

Sincerely,

Gregory Bean
Chief of Police
