Community Survey

Dear Resident,

Our department is pleased to be able to share with you the results of our first community survey.

York College of Pennsylvania graciously took on the task of providing a survey to determine the level of satisfaction or dissatisfaction within our communities.  Like any progressive organization, we simply need to know how we are doing and how we can provide even  better police services.

It should be noted that there were several dollar figures noted within the survey that estimated what our services cost the resident.  The figures enclosed are accurate but only when addressing property taxes.  There are other taxes that may increase the cost to a resident.  A better gauge to understand costs is a per capita cost.  In our case, each resident on the average pays $80.24 (this figure is based on population and budget costs for the year 2005) .  The Southwestern Regional Police Department is proud to be able to provide full-time service at one of the lowest per capita rates in the State.

Please note that if you require making a report of a crime or non-crime issue, 911 should be used to reach an officer within York County .  If you simply have a question or concern, I suggest that you give me a call at (717) 225-1333, extension 101.

Thank you for your interest in our department.

Sincerely,

Gregory Bean
Chief of Police
